The trade is set, and then the working day takes over. The release lands on a chart nobody is watching, and the setup that was clean in the morning is settled by the time you look again.
That is the situation behind a feature request that reached me on 3 September, from a trader who works through the session and keeps the calendar in view only in passing. Premium Trade Manager already holds new entries back around a heavy release. The request went one step further: the same cover for the position that is already running.
Version 3.2 answers it with a single option, and it starts out switched off. Turn Hard Close on News on and you set two things: how many minutes ahead of the event it acts, and how wide it reaches. All positions covers everything the panel manages across your account, whatever the symbol. By currency narrows that to the symbols carrying the currency of the release. Inside that window the panel closes those positions at market and deletes the pending orders behind them, so a resting order sits out the release instead of walking into it.
Two things are worth naming. It acts on the trades that carry the panel's magic number, so what you handed to the panel is what it closes, and the trades you keep by hand stay yours. And it decides what counts by measurement. Calendars disagree with each other on which release is high impact, and none of them measures what the release actually did to the market. Behind the panel every event carries the impact we measured on the market's own reaction. The entry block and the hard close both act on that scale, and the panel shows the tiers under Settings > News: critical and high. A release your calendar files under medium is covered when the market keeps moving on it, and a red label drops out when the market keeps shrugging it off.
Also new in 3.2: with News on Chart switched on, the event markers on the chart read in your computer's local time, and the marker tooltip carries the UTC time alongside.
Version 3.2 is in the MQL5 Market, and it reaches every owner of the tool as a free update.
Week one of the autumn series ends on Sunday, 13 September at 23:59 CEST. Until then Premium Trade Manager holds 89 USD instead of 111. On Sunday night the list price is back.
