Who is on which side of a pair? The answer usually sits in three places. The regulator's weekly report shows where the large funds stand on the futures exchange. The exchange itself shows which side the active trades took on the last trading day. And the live positions of retail traders come from the spot market. Three sources, three rhythms, three formats. The new sentiment overview in REVDEN puts them side by side, one row per pair, for the seven major pairs and gold.
Every row carries three players. For the large funds it shows which side they hold on the futures exchange, from the regulator's weekly report. For the exchange flow it shows which side the active trades on the futures exchange took on the last trading day. For retail traders it shows which side the live positions of many of them sit on. Retail traders sit against the price move in most weeks, which is their usual behavior, and when most of them sit with the move, the row says so. Funds and retail traders read on one scale of seven classes, from strongly short to strongly long, and every row sets the current state next to the one of a week ago. When all three sit on the same side, the row shows it at a glance.
The overview has its own entry in the REVDEN navigation. On the symbol page of each of the eight, the same row opens in detail, together with the price of the last eight days. Pro and VIP see all three players live. With a free account the page shows the eight rows with each pair's move over the week, and the three players open with the Pro membership. On a weekend the page shows the state as of Friday's close.
Our new film on the symbol page shows the overview in motion. It reads EUR/USD from top to bottom and reaches sentiment at 0:54: watch it from there. The film belongs to a new series of six, each about two minutes long and each on one part of the portal: the symbol page, the futures view, watchlist and push, stocks by sector, intelligence, and Max in the portal. Together with the tour through a trading day they make up the playlist How REVDEN reads the market, and all of them run on our videos page as well.
